"Great Location"
Stayed 3 nights. Friendly staff nice Hotel. Rooms are clean, maybe a little small but ok for length of time we stayed. Our room was very warm at night and very noisy if you wanted the window open with traffic noise, as or room was at the front. Wouldn't put us off staying here again. Free tea and coffee machine in the breakfast bar area. They also have a vending machine with snacks. Great location. Easy to get to from airport. The bus from airport stops 2mins walk from hotel.

"Can't wait to return!"
Just got back from amsterdam and staying at the Hampshire hotel theatre district. Where do I start.... After reading reviews of people saying how small it was and concerns about breakfast etc we were slightly apprehensive. IT WAS BRILLIANT! Our room was a lovely size and the bed was super comfy! Good selection of channels to watch including English and English films are shown on Dutch channels - helped for the periods we needed to recharge. Bathroom was lovely and clean, fresh towels, hot water and plenty of space. The tap water is beautiful - it was like showering in mineral water! Cleanest in Europe I believe. Breakfast was continental and plentiful, various breads, meats and cheeses, with cereals, fruits, yoghurt and 2 hot items. Tea and coffee machine was great and has the best hot chocolate! Hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful, whole hotel was clean and comfy. 5 minutes from Leidseplein Square with bars eateries shopping, 25 min straight down will take you to the centre with plenty of delights along the way. So central to the must see areas, museums etc. If you go to Amsterdam stay here!!

"Good hotel, good value for money"
We got this hotel for approximately £50 a night during our 4 night stay. I'm rating it 4 star not because it is a 4 star hotel, but because it exceeded my expectations of being an affordable hotel within a major city. The breakfast buffet has 4-5 varieties of bread, brown, white, seeded, buns etc along with the typical continental bits and bobs. The bed was two singles pushed together that would slide apart if you lay together in the middle which was quite honestly rubbish, a small hinge on each end would sort this out. Maybe they were fully booked and had to bodge a last minute double room together. The room is cleaned daily to a high standard, however things are worn out,the bathroom sink has had better days and also the chairs in the room have countless stains on... That's disgusting but we never used these. The room also had a safe for valuables. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel for it's price and location. We must have had good neighbours as we never heard them once. The bad points I have mentioned are easily overlooked. If this hotel is available and within your price range, just book it and enjoy your city break.

"Small Hotel - Great Location"
The room was very small, and it got very warm at night, those are literally my only negatives! Staff were friendly, the location was excellent, only a short walk to landmarks and the centre, and the free hot drinks was a great touch!

"Hotel was ok"
This hotel was ok to stay, some of the staff were friendly. The room we stayed was ok as well, clean bathrooms and the size was average There are two areas to get to rooms - one area the elevator is in front of reception (that needs upgrading) and the second area the elevator in the breakfast / dining room The hall way to the room we stayed in area one needs a lot of upgrading Area 2 we saw a lot of people go to seems so much better Breakfast was average as well, that needs more attention . Be mindful when you ask the reception to put your bags in the storage area, you need to do it yourself and the reception will unlock the door for you - so anyone can go in to get their bags .

Alongside the major, internationally-renowned museums (like the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum and Stedelijk Museum), the vicinity of Hampshire Hotel – Theatre District Amsterdam also has a number of interesting, smaller museums. For example there’s the Museum Van Loon, based in a 17th century building on Keizersgracht. Here you will find the art collection of the family of Willem van Loon, one of the founders of the Dutch East Indies Company, the VOC. The Tassenmuseum Hendrikje is in a 1664 building declared as a national monument, on the Herengracht. This, the largest bag museum in the world, highlights 500 years of bag history. The Bible Museum on Herengracht is one of the oldest museums in the Netherlands. Its enormous museum collection encompasses not just Biblical items, but also Jewish and Egyptian religious ones.

The Foam Fotografiemuseum on Keizersgracht mounts major exhibitions with work from well-known photographers, but also smaller exhibitions from young talent and amateurs. Every year an exhibition is staged in the Nieuwe Kerk on the Dam, of nominees and winners of the World Press Photo. In the Melkweg Galerie photographers and photography lovers come together in varied exhibitions on current events and life visions.
